We’re thrilled to be taking steps back towards normality after the government gave letting agents the green light to re-open – and we can assure you that the safety of our staff, clients and contractors remains paramount.
The launch of online viewings of our available properties has been hugely successful, with several properties let over the last few days, and we’re now taking steps to make our Walmgate office safe for both staff and visitors.
From Monday 1st June, people will be able to visit our office by prior appointment. We already have staff there every day, answering the phones, dealing with the post and providing keys for contractors carrying out socially-distanced maintenance and repairs. Please be aware our office won’t be fully staffed until it is safe to do so. As a result, it may take us a little longer to respond to phone calls. However, we are all working as quickly and efficiently as we can under the circumstances.
We would request where possible that you email firstname.lastname@example.org. This is accessed by both our staff in the office and those working from home so will receive our prompt attention.
As our rent receipt and payment system is fully online, we will continue to operate this remotely. We will also continue to pay rent over to landlords on the day or day after receiving the rent and email you the statements.
Marketing of Properties
All of our empty properties are now available to view via videos accessed on our dedicated You Tube channel as well as on Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket and our website. This allows tenants to view the property from the safety of their home before deciding whether to proceed with an in-person viewing, which would take place within social distancing guidelines.
We are having to allow extra time between someone moving out of a property and into a property, as the new government guidelines say properties need to be empty for 72 hours between tenants moving out/in and us going into the property.
All property visits were put on hold during the initial period of lockdown. Now that restrictions are being lifted, we are drawing up new guidelines which will allow us to visit properties with all safety procedures in place. We will be respectful of tenants’ wishes if they do not want any visits – and obviously if they have any symptoms of Covid19 then no-one will go to the property.
We are dealing with any emergency maintenance or repairs when reported to us. Our contractors all follow Covid 19 Social Distancing guidelines.
The safety of our staff, clients & contractors is paramount and we will not be rushing in to staffing the office fully until we are satisfied we can meet government guidelines. Even then, following the requirements, our office will continue to be open by appointment only.
We thank you for your continued patience and support and ask you to please bear with us as we continue to put the right measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety. Please contact us with any questions, however big or small, and we’ll be delighted to help.
