Applying for a place
Supported living
If you or someone you know is interested in applying to live in one of the almshouses, in the first instance, please call us on 01904 655200 and ask to speak to Emma or Anya. Alternatively, you can email emma@lettersltd.uk
We send all applicants a form to complete asking for personal details including income and expenditure, as well as referees to contact. Vacancies are relatively rare as residents can stay as long as they need the flat. But if our almshouses are fully occupied, we will keep your details secure and contact you when a place becomes available.
Applications are considered on merit and need, not on a first come, first served basis. Each almhouse has its own criteria for assessing applicants for vacancies. The Boards of Trustees are very sympathetic to people’s situations and dearly wish there were more places available.

Happy to help
In the event of a vacancy, we would show you round the flat and communal areas (which differ in each almshouse) and you would be interviewed by the trustees. If you were accepted, we would agree a date for you to move in and your first month’s contribution would be payable on that date.
Some almshouses require you to provide your own kitchen appliances.
Please note that all of our almshouses are non-smoking, none currently accept pets and all the flats are single occupancy.
Contact us for more details and to discuss how we might manage your almshouse.
